Psychologists call it 'expat blues'—the quiet loneliness that often follows the initial excitement of moving abroad. In Groningen, where around 20% of the population is foreign-born, Natasha de Ridder knows this all too well. Together with Elzo Smid and Bernd Ihno Eilts, she runs the popular Expats in Groningen group, a community of 8000 people. Our reporter Dia Radu met with them to see how newcomers and long-time residents are building connections when homesickness sets in.
