This week, winter has transformed Groningen into a white wonderland. The snow-covered canals and rooftops provide an idyllic backdrop as people enjoy the city's frosty beauty. But in addition to its picturesque side, the snow also brings challenges: slippery roads and limited public transport make everyday life more difficult, while cyclists—who dominate the streetscape in Groningen—have to contend with icy paths. Winter is at its most beautiful in the city, but it is also at its most challenging.
